squareLA NASCITA DEL FOGG MUSEUM DI CAMBRIDGE ATTRAVERSO LA CORRISPONDENZA FORBES-BERENSON (1915-1928)

     Erica Bernardi

ABSTRACT
The article examines the letters sent from Edward Waldo Forbes (1873-1969), first director of the Fogg Art Museum, to Bernard Berenson (1865-1959), which testify the phases of the Harvard Museum birth. In par- ticular the author analyzes the years between 1914, when the correspondance began, and 1928, when the new building of Quincey Street built by Forbes finally opened. The correspondance also proves the first move made by Berenson to assure that the donation of Villa I Tatti would be accepted by Harvard..
