Within the context of contemporary art, conservation issues look at the work of art as a living, and constantly changing, entity. According to this perspective the concept of loss becomes both critical and unacceptable, since the art object, being changeable and passing, is always jeopardized in its vitality. Such a danger makes urgent an ethically founded strategy of care and maintenance, one where the preserver be timely in his interventions so as to prevent any loss or damage. However, today the acnowledgement of threats keeps being often underestimated of misunderstood by the community of scholars and restorers.
